Field Station

MeadWestvaco provides access to a field station for those utilizing the research forest. This field station comfortably sleeps 25 with full kitchen, bath, and storage facilities - a sizable in-kind contribution for almost every research project on the forest.

Use of Field Station: The Field Station has a bunkroom with 22 beds. Priority for the use of these beds goes to researchers who are involved with active projects that require them to be on site for an extended period. Typically from May through August space is at a premium. At other times of the year, space is rarely limited. To be sure you have a bunk during the summer field season, contact Pat Keyser By April 1st. No formal system of reservations is in place, but needs and availability can be assessed each year at that time. Overflow can be accommodated by pitching tents in the field behind the Field Station. If you do not have a bunk reserved, plan to bring a tent and/or sleeping bag.

Refrigerator, work, and bathroom space are limited. Please be considerate in your use of these facilities and the schedules of others using them!
