This web page has been created to promote long term ecological research activities at the MeadWestvaco Wildlife and Ecosystem Research Forest (MWERF) and to foster the study of the impacts of commercial forestry on wildlife and other ecosystem elements. The 8,430 acre forest in Randolph County, WV, managed and supported by MeadWestvaco Corporation, provides the opportunity for a variety of long-term, forest management/habitat manipulation ecosystem impact research on a landscape scale.
